Your privacy in Petomo

Who operates Petomo?

Petomo is operated by Remolab, a French SAS, registered under 953 190 162 RCS Paris, at 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France.

For support, privacy questions or rights requests, email rasoul.b@vetomoclinic.com. We manage account administration and operation of Petomo. Your veterinary clinic is responsible for its professional decisions and clinical record; we handle clinic-controlled records under its instructions.

Information used by the app

• Your account: name, email, sign-in identifier, language, preferences, and authentication/security records. Google sign-in or email verification is used to protect access.
• Your pet: profile, caregiver relationships, health and care details, journal entries, reminders, and information you choose to enter or connect with a clinic.
• Your uploads and messages: selected photos, recorded videos, documents, clinic messages, AI questions and replies, and submitted reports about an AI reply.
• Location and maps: approximate location if you allow nearby-clinic discovery; map searches and interactions. The map provider also receives network/device information needed to operate and improve its maps.
• Technical information: IP address, app/device/OS information, account or SDK identifiers, request timing, diagnostic information and limited feature-use events needed for security, operation and troubleshooting.

Pet information linked to your account can identify you even though it concerns an animal. Please avoid adding unrelated personal information about yourself or other people.

Why we use information

We use it to provide requested account, journal, care, clinic communication and AI features; deliver reminders; protect accounts; investigate reports; and maintain reliable services. Our bases include providing the service you request, legitimate interests in security and reliability, legal obligations, and consent where applicable. Optional permissions can be refused or withdrawn in your device settings.

The initial app is free and has no in-app purchases. We do not sell your personal information.

AI conversations

When you use Petomo AI, relevant messages, pet records, care context and selected uploads may be sent to the configured AI provider to produce a response. Our backend uses Google Gemini and may use OpenAI where configured. We store the conversation and related service/safety records to provide continuity and investigate issues.

AI guidance is not a diagnosis, prescription or emergency service. Use Report reply to send a reply to our team for review. A report includes the reply reference, chosen reason and optional details; authorized reviewers can inspect the relevant conversation context. Contact a veterinarian for urgent concerns.

Providers and connected clinics

Providers include Google Cloud for hosting and storage, Firebase/Google for authentication, Google Maps for maps and clinic discovery, our configured AI providers, and Zoho ZeptoMail for account emails. Providers receive information needed for their service. Google Maps also processes SDK identifiers, device metadata, diagnostics and map interactions under its applicable terms.

Connecting with a clinic or sharing an update makes relevant information available to that clinic and authorized caregivers. Clinic messages and shared care records are not public social posts. We may disclose limited information where legally required or necessary to protect service security.

Providers may process information outside your country. Where a regulated international transfer requires safeguards, the applicable service and data-processing arrangements must provide them. Contact us for the arrangements relevant to your account.

Device permissions and storage

The camera is used when you choose to capture media; selected files are uploaded only for the action you request. You can choose existing files instead. Location supports optional nearby-clinic discovery. Notifications support reminders. Optional speech input uses the speech service selected on your device; that service may process your recording to return text. Biometric unlocking is handled by Android; Petomo does not receive your fingerprint or face template.

The app stores preferences, cached records and drafts on your device to support normal operation and recovery. Uploaded information uses HTTPS. Access controls and private storage protect server records. These controls do not make clinic messages or AI conversations end-to-end encrypted.

Retention and deletion

Account records are kept while needed to provide your account and requested features. Retention also depends on record type, security needs, clinic instructions and legal obligations. We do not apply one medical-record retention period to every clinic and country.

You can request account and data deletion in the app or by email without signing in. We verify account ownership and remove eligible personal account data. Clinic medical records, other caregivers’ records and information required for a documented legal or security reason may be retained. We explain exceptions and retention periods in our response. Protected backups age out under their retention schedule and deleted records are not restored to active use.

Your choices and rights

You can edit profile information, control optional permissions, sign out, and request access, correction, deletion or an export by contacting us. Depending on applicable law, you may also request restriction, object to processing or withdraw consent. We aim to respond within one month and will explain if verification or a complex request requires more time.

You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including the CNIL in France. Petomo is intended for adult pet owners and authorized caregivers, not directed to children.

Material changes to this notice will be communicated through an appropriate service notice. The current version remains available at this address.
